Koryn Brickson
SVU Investigator
SVU Investigator Koryn Brickson joined the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office on April 1st, 2024, as a Deputy after working as a City of Freeport Police Officer for approximately 4 years. Prior to this, Koryn served as a Master at Arms (Military Police) in the United States Navy for 8 years. SVU Investigator Brickson completed Basic Law Enforcement Academy training through the Police Training Institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
While serving as a police officer, SVU Investigator Brickson completed her bachelor’s degree from Concordia University Wisconsin in 2021 and graduated with her master’s degree in human service counseling: Crisis and Trauma Response from Liberty University in 2024.
During her military and civilian law enforcement career, SVU Investigator Brickson has served in several positions including SAPR (Sexual Assault Prevention and Reporting) Advocate, Lead Training Officer, CPR/AED Instructor, Crisis Response and Intervention Team, and Antiterrorism Training Team Leader.
