Deputy Mike Dalke joined the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office on April 1, 2023, following his retirement from the Rockford Police Department after 26 years of service. When Deputy Dalke retired from the Rockford Police Department he held the rank of Assistant Deputy Chief of Police.
During his time with the Rockford Police Department, Deputy Dalke worked in several positions to include the Field Training Unit, the Rockford Housing Authority Unit, and the Training Unit. He was also a long time member of the Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team and the ILEAS Special Response Team. In 2013 he was appointed to the rank of Assistant Deputy Chief and commanded several areas of the Department to include Administration, the Office of Professional Standards, Police District 2, and Community Engagement.
Deputy Dalke holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Education from Mac Murray College and a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Leadership from Saint Xavier University. In 2017 Deputy Dalke graduated from the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff & Command (Class #410) and in 2019 graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (Class #276).
In addition to working with the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Dalke serves on the Board of Directors at GiGi’s Playhouse Rockford: A Down Syndrome Achievement Center.
