Sergeant Spencer Linker began his career with the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office on August 11th, 2014, being sworn in as a Correctional Officer and graduating from the Basic Correctional Officer Academy (Class #3025) later that year. Prior to Sergeant Linker joining the Sheriff’s Office, he was a 2012 graduate from Western Illinois University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration.
Sergeant Linker has served as a Field Training Officer since 2016. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal in September 2017, and then Sergeant in January 2021.
Sergeant Linker has completed many certifications and classes throughout his career with the Sheriff’s Office: First Line Supervision, Applied Police Training and Certification for FTO, Management and Leadership Skills for New Supervisors, First Line Corrections Supervisor, Supervising and Managing the Field Training Process, National Association of Drug Court Professionals, and Critical Task in Jail/Corrections Operations.
