Jacob Maratos
Investigator Jacob Maratos joined the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office on April 1st, 2023, as a Deputy after working as a Police Officer for the City of Freeport Police Department for approximately 8-years. Investigator Maratos completed the Basic Law Enforcement Academy through the Police Training Institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in September of 2015.
During Investigator Maratos’ law enforcement career he has served in numerous positions including: Patrol, Field Training Officer, Arrest & Control Tactics Instructor, General Case Detective, Emergency Response Team member, and ILEAS Mobile Field Force member. Investigator Maratos holds many State of Illinois Law Enforcement certifications to include: Field Training Officer, Lead Homicide Detective, Sexual Assault Investigator, Arrest & Control Tactics Instructor, ILEAS Mobile Field Force, and Basic SWAT.
